Boost Your Career with the IT Work Ready Programme
In an exciting development for those looking to advance their careers in IT and office administration, the IT Work Ready Programme at Pembrokeshire College is set to launch September 2024. This comprehensive seven-week course, designed to enhance IT confidence and proficiency in Microsoft Office (365), offers a unique blend of classroom learning and real-world work experience.
The programme, supported by the Department of Work & Pensions (DWP) and local employers, includes six weeks of intensive full-time study at the College followed by a one-week work placement with a local business. Participants will have the chance to apply their newly acquired skills in a professional environment, bridging the gap between education and employment.
In addition to IT and Microsoft Office training, the programme also offers opportunities for progression in various fields and helps build the skills needed to work in offices along with boosting confidence for those who may have been out of the working environment for a certain amount of time. Participants can further their education by working towards the Agored Cymru Level 2 Certificate in Skills for Further Study.
Nigel Richards Curriculum Area Manager for Computing said, “We are pleased to help members of the local community who need to build their confidence about getting back to work, we appreciate the most difficult step is that first one and this course could make a real difference.”
