Blue Lagoon event in support of Team Cruising Free
--
After a successful lanuch of the Bluestone Foundation Community Events in February & May 2024, the Blue Lagoon Water Park will be open to the local community as part of a series of evening events raising funds for charities, non-profit organisations and constituted groups in Pembrokeshire.
Each event will be hosted by a local charitable organisation and local residents will be able to buy tickets. All of the proceeds will be directed into the community, 75% of funds through the local charitable organisation and 25% through the Bluestone Foundation. Each event will mean up to 600 members of the local community can enjoy our water park’s facilities while raising money directly for local good causes.
Paul Sartori Hospice at Home are one of the nominated charities to benefit once the Atlantic challenge is complete. The proceeds from this event will go the Cruising Free Team who are fundraising for equipment for the challenge initially. More information on Paul Sartori can be found here: Charity in Pembrokeshire - Paul Sartori Hospice at Home

We are Sophie 30, Polly 48. and Janine 68, and together we are team Cruising Free. We are 3 rowers from Neyland Rowing Club who are going to row 3,200 miles unsupported across the Atlantic in 2025.We are striving to showcase values that we believe in, hope, courage and tenacity, whilst raising substantial funds for our 2 chosen charities, the Cystic Fibrosis Trust and Paul Sartori Hospice at Home. We are passionate about inspiring women to take part in extreme sports, especially those living with chronic health conditions and disability. In addition, we are aiming to collect at least 2 World Records; Sophie will be the first person with Cystic Fibrosis, and Janine will be the oldest woman to row the Atlantic. We have a long way to go before we even reach the start line in January 2025; we have £150,000 to raise, a boat to buy, rowing training to do and many, many new skills to learn, as well as raising as much money as we can for our 2 charities. All the money raised through Go Fund Me will go towards getting us to the start line (minus the small % they take). If you would like to join one of our sponsorship clubs please email us for more information. We are so grateful for all of your support and any money you can give!Sophie, Polly and Janine x
