Plas Dwbl is a provision for Ruskin Mill Trust in Wales based on a 100 acre bio-dynamic farm at the foot of the Preseli Hills. Building on the success of Coleg Plas Dwbl in North Pembrokeshire, Ruskin Mill Trust launched Ty’r Eithin, near Swansea in South Carmarthen, in September 2020. Both Plas Dwbl and its satellite Ty’r Eithin offer Ruskin Mill Trust’s innovative Practical Skills Therapeutic Education (PSTE) method giving young people the opportunity to overcome barriers to learning, become skilled through doing real life purposeful activities, and engage as valued members of the community.
SUPPORT WORKERS (HOLISTIC ENGAGEMENT)
40 hours per week, 52 weeks per year
Salary Range (FTE) £19,167.84- £21,199 per annum subject to experience and qualifications
Once Qualified in L3 Health and Social Care there is a potential to earn up to £23,603 after further completion of relevant RMT courses and increased length of service
Sleep-ins paid at an extra £78.48 per night
(This equates to approximately £3,500 additional payment when working 1 sleep-in shift per week)

Ruskin Mill Trust currently offers residential support for students, providing Practical Skill Therapeutic Education for young people aged 16 to 25 years who have a range of learning difficulties, including autistic spectrum disorders and behaviours that challenge.

• Demonstrate the ability to manage emotionally challenging situations, be a team player with experience of
support work in both educational and residential settings
• Emotional intelligence and resilience with the ability to react calmly in stressful situations
• Be able to work flexible hours as this role includes working daytime, weekends, evenings and sleep over
shifts on a rota basis
• A NVQ 3 in Health and Social Work would be desirable, but not essential, as Ruskin Mill Trust will financially
support you to gain this qualification
Due to the locations of some of our team houses – being a driver with access to your own vehicle would be advantageous. Dwbl, Pembrokeshire with travel to Ty’r Eithin, Carmarthenshire. Shifts involve working primarily during the evenings and weekends, including sleepovers
