Jodie Marie, originally from Narberth, was signed to Decca Records/ Universal Music in 2010 and began writing songs with former Suede guitarist and producer Bernard Butler and singer songwriter Ed Harcourt.
Her debut album Mountain Echo (released in 2012 on Verve) was described by The Guardian as ‘velvety and bittersweet’ and received much critical acclaim.
She released her second album Trouble in Mind in 2015. Her sound was described by The Independent as ‘having a light-blues and jazz-folk-edge recalling late-1960s singer songwriters such as Carole King’.
Collaborating again with songwriter Ed Harcourt & Dan Smith (of the Noisettes) and produced by collaborator Owain Fleetwood Jenkins – Jodie Marie’s latest album The Answer is available via all the streaming platforms and issued on limited edition vinyl and CD formats via her new label Carmel Records.
Jodie lives now in Clarbeston in the former chapel she and her partner Owain Fleetwood Jenkins have lovingly converted into a state of the art studio, StudiOwz. She is currently gigging either solo or with her amazing band which boasts two Milford chaps - Tom Sinnett on bass and Jack Beddis on drums - plus guitarist Jimmy Brewer.
Her most recent band gig was at Solva's Edge Festival (despite being offered the opportunity to support Paul Weller in Swansea on the same day) where BB Skone interviewed her for his local music show, broadcast on Sunday 7th August and available on catch-up.
