Pure West Radio (PWR) has established itself as THE local community radio station since its inception over 4 years ago and today PWR reaches over 500,000 people across its platforms each month.
This is a remarkable achievement in such a short time and today PWR is the go to media outlet for listeners to hear the latest local news, vital community information, check out what’s on, engage with each other in an entertaining fashion, and of course, hear great music.
During the Covid crisis PWR (in association with Pembrokeshire County Council and other bodies), became the essential place for listeners to keep up to date, due to its prompt and rapid response to unfolding events,
PWR will broadcast on 87.7FM for a trial period of one month from July 23rd and will become even more accessible to tens of thousands of Pembrokeshire folk. PWR is pleased to have The Port of Milford Haven on board as main sponsor and excited to bring its programme to even more listeners during this period.
Chief Executive of the Port of Milford Haven, Tom Sawyer, said “Pure West Radio is a great example of a home-grown Pembrokeshire business getting bigger and better thanks to the commitment and talent of the team, as well as support from their listeners. The station provides good quality employment in a creative industry for local people, so we’re delighted to sponsor them this summer when they’ll be broadcasting to an even wider audience.”
The trial period will include many fabulous events taking place in the Shire during the summer – from the Pembrokeshire County Show, Oakwood After Dark, and Riverside Funday to amazing festivals such as The Edge in Solva and Welsh Stock in Scolton Manor, covered exclusively by PWR.
Local MP Stephen Crabb said “I am delighted to support Pure West Radio in its efforts with Ofcom to put a truly local radio service back onto the airwaves in Pembrokeshire. Pure West Radio has already shown its important role in our local community. I hope this FM trial is a success and will enable Pure West Radio to be a permanent fixture on our dials”
87.7 – this summer’s magic numbers!
And of course, you’ll still be able to listen on purewestradio.com. on Smart Speaker. Check out the new website for more info or, better still, download the app if you haven’t already done so.
Station manager Toby Ellis said “it will now be so much easier to tune into PWR whether you are out and about in your car or out in the garden soaking up the sunshine! Our presenters are all geared up to make this summer very special indeed”.
