PLANED community development charity will be holding a week of drop-in, community network events from Monday the 20th to Friday the 24th of June.
The activities which will coincide with the start of ‘Co-operatives Fortnight’, and also ‘Small Charities Week’, PLANED will be based at Unit 26 in the Riverside Shopping Centre in Haverfordwest (opposite ‘Business in Focus’ and next to TUI Travel Agents) to engage with more local people, partners, and projects from across our county at a central location.
With different projects present, and highlighted on each day during the week, we just wanted to share some additional information on the format for the week. The shop unit will be open 10:00 -16:30 each day.
Currently the focus/project promotion days are as follows:
• MONDAY 20th June – Information on supporting new Community Pubs, Shops & Assets, Community Led Housing / Community Assets Fund with a £1,000 draw for June entries.
• TUESDAY 21st June – Information on supporting Community Heritage & Culture Projects / DATRIS digital projects and training.
• WEDNESDAY 22nd June – Wales Community Food Distribution Project and Food Vending Machines project.
• THURSDAY 23rd June – Community Well-being and Resilience Youth project
• FRIDAY 24th June – Catalyst for Care Project and launch of PLANED’s new VISION Document
Members of the public and community group representatives are being encouraged to visit Unit 26 Riverside during the week and discus new networks that can be developed in Pembrokeshire and West Wales.
The Chief Executive of PLANED, Iwan Thomas noted. “It is a great opportunity for people to learn about what PLANED is currently developing in terms of support for individuals and communities within Pembrokeshire.” Iwan added, “We are pleased to continue to promote partnership working and co-production both with, and for, our communities, and anyone who cannot make the events can find out more information about our projects on www.planed.org.uk”
