Drop-in Pembrokeshire job fairs to give a springtime boost to businesses and job seekers
--
Local employers are joining forces to showcase a wide variety of exciting, rewarding and long-term career opportunities at job fairs in Haverfordwest and Pembroke Dock in May.
Supported by Pembrokeshire County Council and the Regional Learning and Skills Partnership South West Wales, the free job fairs will be held at:
Haverhub, The Old Post Office, 12 Quay St, Haverfordwest SA61 1BG on Tuesday 17 May from 4pm to 6pm
The Bridge Innovation Centre, Pembrokeshire Science and Technology Park, Pembroke Dock SA72 6UN on Thursday 19 May from 10am to 2pm.
The Pembrokeshire Job Fairs are free with no registration needed and offer a fantastic opportunity for both job seekers and employers to connect and have a chat.
Darren Thomas, Head of Infrastructure at Pembrokeshire County Council, said it’s a great way to speak with potential employers face-to-face.
“You can register with employers for jobs, find out more about the employers and the opportunities they have, ask questions, apply for jobs, or even have a mini interview on the day,” he said.
There will also be a wide range of support for those looking to hone their job seeking skills including access to digital support and practical help with money and benefits from Jobcentre Plus. One-to-one advice will be available for attendees wishing to further their confidence and skills to be ‘job-ready’ and there will be an opportunity to talk to Pembrokeshire County Council’s employability programmes about support with CVs, training and barriers to employment.
“The Job Fairs are a great opportunity for people of all ages and abilities to discover the diverse careers available across Pembrokeshire, connecting employers to new emerging talent,” said Darren.
“The response from local employers has been amazing with a wide range of jobs on offer so whether you’re looking for work, thinking of a career change or need help and support following redundancy come along to see what’s on offer.”
If you can’t attend on the day but would like to find out more about how Pembrokeshire County Council’s employment support services can help you, please email: futureworks@pembrokeshire.gov.uk or call 01437 776437.
The Pembrokeshire Job Fairs are free to attend and visitors can simply turn up on the day.
