Local Artist of the Week - SHABBY. -- Indie rock trio Shabby have just released their second CD, titled ‘Waiting For The Giants To Fall’, a 16 track collection of original songs. The band’s lyricist, singer and drummer is Miles Jefcoate who began his musical career whilst still at Pembroke School. One of his previous bands, Permanent, won the People’s Choice gong at the West Wales Music Awards in the late 1990s.
The other members of Shabby are Pete Passingham (bass/BVs) and Jimmy Beige (guitar/keyboards/BVs).
Whilst Shabby’s music has fierce contemporary feel, it also has strong retro elements, drawing on punk bands such as the Buzzcocks or The Clash in some songs, classic ‘60s Mod groups such as The Who or The Small Faces in others. This is Shabby chic!
Eagle Rock is about a well known Pembrokeshire landmark. Who knows where it is?
