All Pembrokeshire Leisure Centres are continuing to work towards obtaining Autism Aware Organisation status.
In partnership with Disability Sport Wales (DSW) and Autism Wales, Pembrokeshire Leisure signed up all leisure centres to the Autism Wales Leisure Scheme.
As part of this all leisure centre staff have been attending Autism Aware training delivered by DSW.
The aim is to increase the knowledge and understanding of individuals with autism.
Milford Haven Leisure Centre is the second leisure centre in the County to achieve the Autism Aware Organisation Status and has been presented with a certificate by Angela Miles of Sport Pembrokeshire.
Angela said: “Pembrokeshire Leisure is fully committed to the scheme and we hope that all their centres will soon achieve the Autism Aware Organisation status.”
Milford Haven Leisure Centre Manager James Walters, said: “We are delighted to achieve this status. Providing this training to our staff will help to improve our offer to children and adults with autism.”
