Haverfordwest High VC News: After successfully raising £6234.04 for Children In Need, the school now moves onto their next project, Gifts Under The Tree.
This is the 4th year that this project has run where the school will donate gifts to children living in poverty in Pembrokeshire in the hope that every child will have a present to open on Christmas day.
Last year HHVC donated over 500 gifts to the local authority which were then distributed to children in poverty and this year we aim to donate even more. All gifts are given to the school 6th form who will then wrap, label and deliver to the local authority again in the week commencing 5th December.
Aswell as this, the 6th form team are organising an afternoon tea and care packages for local care homes and cancer care packages which will be delivered to patients undergoing cancer treatment at Withybush Hospital. These packages are designed to make the lives of patients and care home residents a little easier with the use of toiletries, socks, hairbrush, aftershave etc. One recipient of the cancer care package from 2021 messaged the 6th form to say how grateful they were to receive such a generous package in their time of need.
Pembrokeshire isn't the most affluent area in Wales but the generosity of the staff and pupils of Haverfordwest High VC School and the local community never ceases to astound us.
If you think this is a news item that you believe would be successful, we would love to hear back from you and come to an arrangement to highlight the good we have in the community at a time when the cost of living is rocketing.
