LIVE: A40 reopens after 20 hours following three-lorry crash at Whitland
Three lorries had been involved in a crash which resulted in one person bring airlifted to hospital.
Dyfed Powys Police had closed the A40 between St Clears to the Roadhouse roundabout in Whitland in both directions at around 2:15am on Wednesday, 9 November.
At the time of the incident the police added:
The crash resulted in the road being closed for just over twenty hours on Wednesday.
Later in the evening, at 22:10, police had then confirmed the road had finally opened after hours of incident investigation and "clear-up work".
Two emergency ambulances, an ambulance operations manager, the Wales Air Ambulance, Four fire crews from Mid and West Wales Fire Service and Dyfed Powys Police were all involved with the incident.

The A40 between Whitland and St Clears has now reopened.
As a result of the crash, the road had been closed for 20.5 hours (approximately).
Dyfed Powys Police has said:
"The A40 between St Clears and Whitland has now reopened"

Following confirmation from the authorities, the A40 remains closed between the Roadhouse roundabout, Whitland and St Clears at this time.
The road is now forecasting to reopen at 22:50 this evening.

Four fire service crews from Whitland, Narberth, Pembroke Dock and Carmarthen were called to the scene this morning.
A statement from Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue service reads:
"On Wednesday 9th November at 02:00, Crews from Whitland, Narberth, Pembroke Dock and Carmarthen where called to an incident on the A40, Whitland.
"[The] Incident involved 4 Heavy Goods Vehicles in a RTC. Crews used cutting gear and winch. Ambulance Service on scene.
"Crews left the incident at 04:29"
After speaking to the Fire service, a spokesperson confirmed to PWR that initially four vehicles were at the scene however, only three lorries were directly involved with the incident.
The A40 road remains closed for investigation work.

The A40 remains closed in both directions between the Roadhouse roundabout in Whitland and St Clears.
Traffic from Haverfordwest is being diverted away from the A40 Scotchwell roundabout to the A4076 in Johnston, continuing over to the A477 Pembroke Dock, then to the A477 Kilgetty roundabout.
The A40 at Canaston Bridge roundabout to Robeston Wathen is also closed on the Westbound carrigeway to divert traffic from Haverfordwest to the A4075 road to Cross Hands, then onto the A4115 to Templeton, joining onto the A478 to Begelly.

Two ambulances, an ambulance operations manager and the Wales Air Ambulance were sent to the scene of the crash this morning.
In a statement, a spokesperson from the Welsh Ambulance Service told PWR:
"We were called today (09 November) shortly after 1:40am, to reports of a road traffic collision involving three lorries on the A40 between St Clears and Whitland."
"We sent two emergency ambulances and one duty operations manager to the scene, where we were supported by the Wales Air Ambulance.
"One person was flown to University Hospital of Wales Cardiff for further treatment.”
