Met Office issues yellow weather warning for parts of Pembrokeshire
A yellow weather warning for thunderstorms has been issued for parts of Pembrokeshire today.
The weather warning is in place between 15:00hrs and 23:59hrs this evening.
Heavy, thundery showers will affect parts of South Wales which includes Pembrokeshire and Carmarthenshire.
The Met Office says:
"Heavy showers and thunderstorms will cross southwest Wales and then parts of southwest England during the second half of Thursday.
"Following heavy rainfall in the past 24 hours, some places may receive an additional 30-40 mm of rain in a few hours which could lead to some surface water flooding, particularly where showers are slow moving. Thunderstorms will be mostly limited to coastal areas where lightning and hail may be additional hazards.
"In exposed spots across southwest Cornwall during the evening there is also the potential for strong wind gusts (50-60 mph) in association with these thunderstorms and showers."
What to expect:
Some flooding of a few homes and businesses likely, leading to some damage to buildings or structures
There is a good chance driving conditions will be affected by spray, standing water and/or hail, leading to longer journey times by car and bus
Delays to train services are possible
Probably some damage to a few buildings and structures from lightning strikes
Some short term loss of power and other services is likely
