Online calendar born out of the pandemic continues to grow
There has been a “What’s On” online calendar on the popular Facebook page, Saundersfoot Connect, since the happy time when restrictions were lifted after the pandemic and people could begin to gather again in person! As more and more events happen in the village and surroundings, and the number of people wanting to access this information increase, it has been moved to a ‘stand-alone’ location, making it easier to find.
The calendar is now available at www.saundersfootevents.co.uk and there is even a QR code to make it even easier for people to find. Simply point your phone’s camera at the code and let the technology do it’s thing! The plan is that this code can be displayed in businesses to allow quick access to the website which will contain up to date information on things going on in the village – like a village notice board, but online!
The catchment area for local events which will be included on the Saundersfoot Events website is shown on the map. Large scale events further afield (up to 10 miles away) such as Tenby Beer Festival, Ironman Wales or Narberth Food Festival will also be included.
The admin team running the site will do their best to spot events being promoted, but they can’t always find everything. So, if you’re running an event or have something special going on at your venue and would like it included on the Saundersfoot Events online calendar, please email info@saundersfootevents.co.uk, giving details of the event (ideally with a poster or image to include).
“We hope that the link to Saundersfoot Events will be used by everyone, including tourist organisations and businesses” says Sara Hicks, one of the team who set up the website. “It is a fabulous one stop shop to events going on in Saundersfoot and we invite everyone in the village to use it and contribute”.
The site has been paid for by Cllr Chris Williams who is a keen supporter of the initiative. It is being managed by Sara Hicks, Emma Price, Sarah Whiddett and Ladan Harper on a voluntary basis.
