Two new community grants are launched by PAVS to help create a Warm Welcome this winter, and to enhance outdoor meeting places across the county.
The message is clear. Getting together is good for us!
For groups and organisations, hoping to make a real difference to the wellbeing of their communities, by bringing people together this winter and beyond, two grants are now available through Pembrokeshire Association of Voluntary Services (PAVS).
The WARM WELCOME COMMUNITY SPACES GRANT, and the OUTDOOR CONNECTIONS FUND, are now inviting applications from constituted voluntary and community groups, social enterprises, Town and Community Councils and Places of Worship. With deadlines of November 9th and 28th respectively, both funds are to be spent by the end of March 2023.
The Warm Welcome Community Spaces Grant offers revenue & capital grants of up to £3,500 supported by Pembrokeshire County Council and Welsh Government. This new grant will help Pembrokeshire communities meet the challenge of Winter Pressures such as increased costs of living, food and energy by supporting projects providing warm and welcoming spaces to bring people together across Pembrokeshire. “This could be for additional activities and opening hours, socialising, advice and support in third sector community buildings, whether halls, libraries, leisure centres or others, over the coldest months of the year” explained a PAVS funding officer. Grant deadline of 9th November at 5pm.
The popular Outdoor Connections Fund Round 2 offers Capital funding of up to £1,500 to improve outdoor spaces at community buildings for the benefit of the wider community and older people, including through multi-generational groups. “Many groups created safer meeting places outside during COVID with round 1 Outdoor Connections funding and have found these areas to be a real boost to everyone using the community buildings, creating informal spaces to meet, rest and socialise, combating loneliness and isolation and strengthening the sense of community” reports PAVS funding team. Grant deadline is Monday 28th November 2022 at 5pm.
