Connor Jillions is a young songwriter, guitarist, and singer from Pembroke Dock who is beginning to make a name for himself on the Pembrokeshire musical circuit as both solo artist and with his band, Caveman Massacre.
Last year he released a couple of singles and an EP. He’s now released his second EP, Live at Main Street Music, recorded in front of an invited audience in the shop of the same name in Pembroke. For shop owner George Parfitt it was a fitting celebration of his first year in business and for Connor it was an opportunity to play a couple of his own songs and four of his favourite covers stripped down and raw. Just as he likes it.
Connor is heavily influenced by the psychedelic Blues Rock of the late ‘60s and early ‘70s as played by bands like the Jimi Hendrix Experience and Eric Clapton’s Cream though he gives his own personal interpretation to the four covers and his originals on the EP, Watercolours and Cabin Fever, which show case not only his guitar playing but also his maturing songwriting talents.
Connor’s interview with BB Skone can be heard on the podcast of the Pembrokeshire Music Show, broadcast on Sunday 23rd April.
All the songs featured this week are taken from the new EP which was recorded and produced by Gareth Davie of Manorbier, himself a former LAOTW.
Connor can be heard performing with his band Caveman Massacre on Friday 13th May in Pembroke Castle, for the PWR sponsored Pembroke Festival.
