Tapestri released their debut album ‘Tell Me World’ on the 24th of March 2023 via Shimi Records.
“There is some true magic captured here with two voices in perfect harmony. If you’re a fan of Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young or First Aid Kit you’re going to love this” New Sound Wales
Sarah Zyborska from north Wales and Lowri Evans from Newport will be especially familiar to The PWR audience as bilingual singer-songwriters who have been performing as solo artists for some time and featured regularly on the BB Skone Show.
It took being booked on the same stage at Lorient Celtic Festival 2019 for the two to actually meet, which sparked an idea to form a female fronted band and to create their own brand of Folk/Roots/Americana, all beautifully knitted together through their innate musicality and heartfelt delivery.
The two kept their partnership going over the pandemic and released three singles - Welsh and English language versions of Open Flame, Save Your Love and Sweet Memories.
They performed at Focus Wales, Between the Trees Festival and represented Wales in the first ever Global Music Match. In the Summer of 2022 they performed on the Main stage at Cambridge Folk Festival after playing only a handful of gigs together. Their handmade limited edition EP was one of the biggest sellers at the festival and they subsequently played at Greenman, Other Voices (Cardigan), Cwtch Festival (St Davids) and sold out two hometown shows in the Autumn.
This album is a collection of songs that looks at the world from a woman’s perspective with lyrics that reflect upon lived experiences, infused with insight, empathy and emotion.
The album has been produced by Lowri’s partner, Lee Mason, who also plays guitar on the record.
