An exciting new event is happening this summer! Celebrating live music, the community and the fantastic businesses in Saundersfoot, this three-day festival will showcase a wide range of talent and will be THE place to be in July 2023.
Launching on Friday July 7th, SaundersFEST will continue for the whole weekend of July 8th and 9th. There will be a wide range of music both in the village and on the main festival stage in the grounds of Saundersfoot Sports & Social Club.
A charity event, run entirely by volunteers, SaundersFEST will showcase a wide range of music from solo acts, groups, choirs through to our headline act on Sunday, Mark and Wynne Evans.
Wynne Evans you may know as the ‘Go Compare’ man – but he is also a world renowned opera singer with close association with Welsh National Opera. Mark Evans is a member of the English National Opera and founder of "ABC of Opera". They have also both appeared in a film about their mother’s campaign to save the Lyric Theatre in Carmarthen from closure. Both Wynne and Mark appear in the film ‘Save the Cinema’ in cameo roles.
“There is still much to do to organise the festival” said Chris Williams – local Councillor and lead on the project. “but we have a great team behind the scenes and it’s already shaping up to be a highlight in our summer calendar! We are also hugely grateful to our main sponsor The Royal Oak pub and to Puffin Cottage Holidays , our accommodation sponsor, for helping to get the project underway.”
