Pembroke Power Station Sports & Social Club Raise Vital Funds for Ward 10
-
A huge congratulations goes out to Pembroke Power Station Sports and Social Club on raising over £6000 for Ward 10 at Withybush Hospital, Haverfordwest.
After one of their members, Cath (with a C) sadly passed away from Cancer last September.
Cath who worked at the Sports club for 22 years, fought and beat, breast cancer once decided to raise funds for Cancer Research UK and raised £1000, however unfortunatley Cath's breast cancer came back in February of 2022 and she passed in September 2022.
Tony Griffiths said, " I had been looking at old pictures and found some of Cath aroubd 7nyears ago when she, herself did the Ice Bucket Challenge, so it seemed only fittiNG that I resurect it in her memory." Within 24 hours 20 people had signed up.
Members of the Power Station Club based in Main Street in Pembroke and wanted to raise money for Ward 10 to buy some much needed eqiupment and remember Cath at the same time.
Cath was never happier than when she was organising an event at the Club, and the Ice Bucket Challenge seemed the perfect idea.
Many members and friends braved the icy water to raise money to help buy equipment for Ward 10.
Cath would be proud of all the members achievements, and was there, laughing at all the screams and shouts
