New, modern workspaces now available at Pembroke Port, the gateway to the green energy revolution
--
New modern office and workshop spaces are nearing completion at Pembroke Port that offer businesses the chance to be located at the centre of an already bustling dockyard, in this exciting and transformational period of development which will provide additional facilities and services for the growing marine energy industries.
The first of four Grade II listed annexes attached to the historic Sunderland Hangars will be ready for occupation in the Spring, with the final three on track to be completed by the Summer. All the newly developed buildings have names with a special connection to Pembroke Dock’s rich history that were chosen by members of the local community: Catalina House, Falcon House, Erebus House and Oleander House.
First to be completed will be the two-storey office accommodation Oleander House next to the Eastern Hangar. Named after the last ship to be built at the Royal Naval Dockyard in Pembroke Dock, it was one of only six ships in its class. The office accommodation will be spread over two floors totalling 654m², with individual office spaces ranging from 20m² to 56.7m². Contracts are currently being drawn up with a tenant for this property.
Catalina House, a brand new two-storey building next to the Western Sunderland Hangar, will have office and workshop spaces including a central conference room, parking and close proximity to laydown areas, quayside and slipway access. While Erebus House and Falcon House will be refurbished ground floor spaces to the north and west of the Western Hangar. Enquiries are now being welcomed for these three remaining properties.
The redevelopment of the annexes forms part of the wider Swansea Bay City Deal-backed Pembroke Dock Marine project which will deliver the facilities, services and spaces needed for the fast-growing marine renewables industry and low carbon sector.
Commercial Manager at Pembroke Port, Sharon Adams, is excited about the progress of the works commenting “It’s fantastic to see these new buildings nearing completion. They will provide businesses with a modern environment within an historic port that’s at the heart of Pembrokeshire’s renewable energy transition. I’d encourage anyone who is interested in these facilities to get in touch and find out more.”
The Hangar Annexes development is part of the Swansea Bay City Deal-backed Pembroke Dock Marine project which is funded by the UK Government, Welsh Government and through the public and private sectors. It is also part funded by the European Regional Development Fund through the Welsh Government.
