The Big Golden Swim held annually at North Beach, Tenby is organised to raise vital funds for worthy charities. The popular Boxing Day swim is organised by the Tenby Sea Swimming Association (TSSA), which also stages the summertime Caldey Swim, from the monastic island to Tenby mainland.
These two events have enabled TSSA to raise nearly £300,000 for local, national and international charities and good causes over the years. The Boxing Day swimmers can choose to collect for their own good cause, or to support the charities nominated by TSSA. The Boxing Day Swim has taken place for over 50 years now, and in 2022 Paul Sartori Foundation were chosen as one of their charities.
Amanda-Jane Myatt, Paul Sartori Store Manager recently met up with Nicole Evans, TSSA to receive a cheque for £1000.00. Nicole said “The TSSA chose Paul Sartori Foundation in association with St Marys Church in Tenby, as Paul Sartori Foundation are their chosen Charity, and also because of the work they do in our community. They are helping lots of people we know.”
“We are so grateful to all local event organisers, such as Tenby Sea Swimming Association for supporting the charity. It is through the generosity of the local community that we are able to continue to provide end-of-life care to Pembrokeshire people.” Said Sandra Dade, Charity Manager at Paul Sartori Foundation.
