Razor Bill is an acoustic folk band from the Manorbier area which has been performing for around 10 years though the latest line-up has only been together for about a year and is Phillipa on violin, Graham on vocals, guitar, whistle, harmonica and bodhran, Dave on vocals and u-bass, plus Matt on guitar and accordion. Former member Peter joins them on violin when he is back in the area.
The band describe themselves as making "foot-tapping folk music" but there is so much more to the music than that! Sure Razor Bill play some traditional songs but it is their imaginative choice of covers that sets them apart - songs from the Waterboys, the Oysterband, and the Rolling Stones all feature in their set.
The name comes from a clever conflation of the area's piratical history and the symbol for the Pembrokeshire National Park.
All the songs played this week were recorded live in front of an audience at a recent gig in Manorbier.
The band's chat with BB Skone, broadcast on his local music show of Sunday 5th November, can be heard on Catch-up.
