Pembrokeshire County Council and South Hook LNG recently joined partner agencies in the final preparations for this year’s Crucial Crew safety event.
Celebrating its 30th Anniversary in November, Crucial Crew has welcomed over 40,000 Pembrokeshire schoolchildren, who have engaged in life-long safety learnings.
In this year’s event, another 1,400 local schoolchildren will benefit from interactive safety workshops, held over a two-week period. The milestone will be celebrated with participating schools, the agencies – past and present- who are dedicated to the safety of children – and wider community members.
Partners involved in Crucial Crew are Pembrokeshire County Council’s Road Safety, School Transport and Domestic Abuse teams, Mid & West Wales Fire & Rescue, Welsh Ambulance Service, Dyfed Powys Police, the RNLI, National Grid, Network Rail and The John Burns Foundation.
Previously supported by Pembroke Refinery, the Anniversary year marks the 14th consecutive year of South Hook sponsorship.

St Davids RNLI were tasked to launch to four sea kayakers in difficulty in strong northerly winds west of Abereiddi Bay on the May bank holiday weekend
At 12:28pm on Saturday 3rd May, St Davids all-weather lifeboat was requested to launch by HM Coastguard following reports from a member of the public, and a call for help from one of the kayakers in trouble.
