Bryde is the indie rock band created by singer/songwriter and guitarist from Hakin, Sarah Howells who currently lives in London.
Sarah was a founder member of 1990s Milford rock band Jylt who were on the verge of commercial success when tragedy struck. Nia George, founder member, bassist, singer, and co-songwriter, suffered a serious illness and died at the all too young age of 21.
The other members of Jylt were understandably traumatised and didn't make music for several years but eventually began playing again, always keeping Nia's memory alive.
Alex Cooper and Tim Ramsey formed Persona B and still play regularly around Pembrokeshire in various bands.
Sarah formed a duo, called Halflight at first, then Paper Aeroplanes, with Richard Llewellyn, a multi-instrumentalist from Cilgerran, and achieved a certain amount of commercial and critical acclaim.
When that duo had run its course Sarah formed her current band, Bryde, and has been, for the past few years, performing her songs in that band - she has a distinctive voice; her music is a beautiful, melodic, and finely crafted, the perfect vehicle for her bitter sweet, confessional lyrics.
She has now released a new four track EP, titled ' Change Your Mind', which is available from all the usual platforms. These are the track that feature on PWR's playlist this week.
