Huw Edwards expelled from National Eisteddfod Gorsedd
Disgraced TV presenter Huw Edwards has been stripped of one of Wales' top honours after being expelled from the National Eisteddfod Gorsedd.
This is the first time that the Eisteddfod Court has imposed an expulsion, after a unanimous vote was carried yesterday (Thursday).
Edwards was inducted into the Gorsedd of the Bards in 2022 when the National Eisteddfod was held in Tregaron, Ceredigion. Its members include writers, poets, musicians, artists and others who have made a distinguished contribution to the Welsh nation.
Edwards, 62, pleaded guilty to three charges of making indecent images of children when he appeared before Westminster Magistrates court on July 31. These included seven category A images, which is the most serious classification, with two images involving a child aged between seven and nine.
