Major sea search after teenagers reported missing off coastal path
A major sea search got underway last weekend when two teenagers were reported missing from the Pembrokeshire Coastal path.
The call was made just before 11 pm on Saturday night, when the Angle all-weather lifeboat was asked to search for two boys who were reported missing. The boys were believed to be somewhere on the coastal path between Broad Haven North and Milford Haven.
It was understood that the boys had set off a few hours prior, but as darkness fell, they became disorientated and had no battery left on either of their phones. The last contact they had was with one of their mothers, when they stated they were in total darkness on the coast path. They were unable to say where precisely they were, however they thought they could see a lighthouse flashing in the distance.
With no other information to act on, the lifeboat searched from St Anne's Head and up the coast towards St Brides. Coastguard rescue teams from Broad Haven, Dale and Llansteffan were also asked to carry out searches of the paths.
Fortunately both boys then turned up at their homes, safe and well, after finding their way to a nearby road and getting a lift by a member of the public.
