Popular Pembrokeshire farm barn fate to be decided by councillors
A Pembrokeshire farm barn which gained a 2,600-strong petition of support after being rejected by county planners is once again up for consideration.
But rather than being determined by officers, the final decision will now lie with local councillors.
Last year, the Willowhome Farm Barn sought permission to retain its farm park and ancillary buildings at Home Farm, near Camrose. But it was refused as a result of highway safety concerns and fears that it would generate additional foul water flows which could result in increased phosphate levels in the Cleddau River.
The decision prompted strong objections from locals who stated the Willowhome Farm Barn project had established an important educational base for local children and families. A change.org petition resulted in 2,600 signatures, and claimed the planners' original decision was 'unjustified'.
Earlier this year the applicant, Stuart Williams, submitted a fresh call, supported by Camrose Community Council, for permission to be granted. Once again this was expected to be decided by planning officers but now, following a request by Cllr Jamie Adams, the matter will instead be determined by the planning committee, at a future meeting.
