A Pembrokeshire lifeboat was called out on three separate occasions in just 24 hours this week, after being asked to assist a vulnerable person off Wards Pier as well as two women cut off by the tide at Hakin Point and a yacht that had lost all power four miles off St Ann's Head.
The first call was made to Angle Lifeboat just before 6 am on Tuesday morning when the crew was asked to search for what they described as 'a vulnerable person' who was reported to be in the Wards Pier area of Milford Haven.
After commencing a search of the shore, the crew began searching around Newton Notes jetty and on towards Conduit Beach.
"After an hour of searching, we stood down after being told that the casualty had been located inland by police," commented a member of the Angle lifeboat crew.
But just before 8.30 pm the Angle lifeboat was called out once again, this time after being told that two women had become cut off by the tide between Hakin Point and Conduit Beach.
"Given the close proximity of the lifeboat's berth, we deployed the Y boat which meant we were soon with the casualties," continued the Angle crew member.
"We got both females on board and transferred them the short distance to Hakin Point where members of the Dale Coastguard Rescue Team were on hand."
Four hours later the crew was once again paged following an SOS call from a 12 metre yacht that had lost all power four miles south west of St Ann's Head.
After locating the yacht, a tow was rigged and the yacht was transferred back into the marine. The towing procedure took approximately 90 minutes.
