Weatherman Walking's Derek Brockway meets up with the infamous Puffin Shuttle
Wales' Weatherman Walking strolled into the city of Pembrokeshire this week when he bumped into Richard Bros Puffin Shuttle bus driver, Stacey Campbell, as she drove through St Davids.
"Derek was over the moon to get a picture with our famous Puffin Shuttle driver, as Stacey has already starred in a number of tv programmes, including 'Wales On A Bus Pass'," commented one of Stacey's colleagues at Richards Bros.
"And she put her time with Derek to good use by putting in a request for some better weather conditions, so that our coastal warriors can enjoy the rest of the holiday season as they travel on the Puffin Shuttle from St Davids to Marloes."
Derek spent the week filming in north Pembrokeshire for an edition of Weatherman Walking which was aired on Tuesday evening.
His walk began in Mynachlogddu before he began his ascent up the Preseli hills, following an ancient trail to Crymych. During his walk he called in on a farm which was the hideout for the infamous Rebecca Rioters. He then celebrated the life and work of Waldo Williams in the company of the Archdruid of Wales, Mererid Hopwood, who herself has strong family connections with north Pembrokeshire.
Derek then learnt about a fatal accident that took place on top of the Preseli hills in 1944, when a Liberator plane flying from Cornwall to Anglesey crash landed, killing six people.
The Preseli edition of Weatherman Walking was shown on BBC1 on Tuesday, August 27 at 7 pm but can be viewed on iPlayer.
