VC Gallery Secures Planning Permission for Veteran Housing in Pembrokeshire
The VC Gallery is delighted to announce that Pembrokeshire County Council has granted planning permission to build dedicated apartments for ex-forces veterans. This groundbreaking project aims to address homelessness and support the unique needs of veterans, particularly those with mobility challenges.
Thanks to generous funding from The Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust, the VC Gallery collaborated with Pembroke Design as architects and Penfro Consultants as quantity surveyors, who conducted the necessary surveys to secure planning approval.
The development will be closely integrated with the VC Gallery’s therapeutic hub in Pembroke Dock, providing not only housing but also essential emotional support, community connection, and access to therapeutic services. The hub will play a pivotal role in empowering veterans to rebuild their lives and achieve lasting independence.
Barry John MBE, founder of The VC Gallery, shared his excitement:
“This is a dream come true. We are proud to address homelessness among veterans by combining practical housing solutions with the vital emotional and therapeutic care they need through our hub. This project will make a real difference in their lives.”
This initiative represents a significant step forward in supporting Pembrokeshire’s veteran community, combining innovative housing solutions with a holistic approach to care.
