A special day for a special person, thanks to Tee Off For Trav
A special day of remembrance for Travis Rogers, the 19-year-old who tragically took his own life in 2023, took place last Saturday when Rosemarket Golf Club hosted its ‘Tee Off For Trav’.
The dawn until dusk event was an opportunity for the community to enjoy a family fun day complete with golfing challenges, face painting, a bouncy castle for the children and a visit from the Milford Haven Fire and Rescue Service.
“This was an opportunity for us to remember the life of Travis, but also to do something positive for two charities which are helping to support people in such an important way,” said Rosemarket Golf Club captain, Damian Haworth.
“The whole county was devastated and shocked when Travis took his own life, at the age of 19, so as captain of the golf club, I thought I'd try and use my position to do something positive about this utterly tragic situation.”
Local businesses joined forces to help make the event a real family event, including Pure West Radio who sponsored Hole 6 for the day, to celebrate six years of broadcasting for Pembrokeshire.
The event raised a total of £4,428.90 which will be equally split between MIND Pembrokeshire, and The Samaritans.
