Pembroke's South Quay car park to remain closed in August
Pembroke’s South Quay Car Park will be closed to all vehicles in August when work begins on the final phase of the South Quay Development project.
The car park will be closed from Monday, August 12, to allow for construction work to begin on the final stages of the regeneration project. Access will be maintained to the slipway, with the road being diverted to follow the railings to the river side of the car park.
The public toilets will also be closed from the same date, August 12, however alternative facilities will be available at The Commons and at Main Street.
“We appreciate that closing the facilities on South Quay will cause some inconveniences, especially during our busy holiday season, but the project is progressing well,” commented Cllr Rhys Sinnett, who is cabinet member for residents’ services.
The South Quay Development project includes a new visitor attraction, a new library and cafe, with restored and enhanced historic gardens within the burgage plots and the Pembroke Hwb, offering support services and community facilities to Pembroke and the south of the county.
Further information about alternative parking arrangements and public toilet facilities can be found on the council website.
