This week we feature an artist in the successful 'archive' slot.
James Crisp is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, and music teacher who lives on the St Davids peninsula. Over the years he has been a member of several local bands.
Twenty years ago he composed and performed (on stage) the original soundtrack to the Torch Theatre's production of John Steinbeck's "Of Mice And Men" which was directed by the recently retired Peter Doran. However the music stands alone as a series of melodic and evocative pieces.
The songs and tunes played this week are taken from the CD released to accompany the play plus a bonus track composed for the 2003 Pembroke Festival, which was specially commissioned by the then MP, Nick Ainger. That track, called 'Across The Water' fits in with the theme of the BB Skone Show of Sunday 2nd June which was about Pembrokeshire music that has water in the song title or band name! Available to listen to on Catch-up.
I wonder if anyone has a copy of the CD which is pictured. It must be a collector's item now!
