The Lairds are a four piece rock band from south Pembrokeshire who have just recorded their favourite songs as a series of demos, aided by Will Scott, and they are featured this week.
What makes The Lairds unique is that the sets the band plays in the pubs, clubs, and other venues consists entirely of original songs. This is most impressive at a time when covers bands generally rule the roost and even artists who do have original songs include them sparingly in their shows.
When The Lairds appeared on the BB Skone Show of Sunday 31st March (available on Catch-up) they told BB that their songs owe a debt to the '60s and various popular genres like country and reggae but above all they are also danceable. To be a genre busting, dance band goes a long way to heading off cries of "play something we know!"
