The Flyrites is a Rockabilly band that draws its members from all over Pembrokeshire.
The band was formed a few years ago when Richie (bass), former member of Doc and the Headshrinkers and Tootin Ska Moon met Karl (guitar/vocals). They recruited Elliott on percussion and the band was born. The current drummer is John and the latest recruit is 17 year old Dav from Solva on guitar.
Their Rockabilly draws its influences from the likes of artists, such as Elvis, who recorded for Sun Records in the '50s, the '70 & '80s revivalists like the Stray Cats and The Jets, right up to the present day psychobilly musicians. However the Flyrites also bring their own modern interpretation to the genre through their self-penned songs which are the ones chosen to feature this week.
They are raw, passionate, exciting, and highly danceable!
Their interview with BB can be heard on Catch-up, just search for the BB Skone Pembrokeshire Music Show of May 5th.
