Pembrokeshire Association of Community Transport Organisations (PACTO)
Pembrokeshire Association of Community Transport Organisations (PACTO) recently marked the beginning of their exciting three-year transformation project by commissioning a hand-drawn graphic to tell the story of their launch event.
The event, which was held at HaverHub in Haverfordwest, saw partners and organisations from across the county and beyond come together to celebrate the official beginning of the project, which has been made possible by funding from the Motability Foundation and UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
With over 100 people in attendance, the event - which was hosted by Toby Ellis from Pure West Radio - proved to be a real success as PACTO outlined their road to success, how they plan to achieve it, and the key stakeholders they will be working with along the way.
Guests heard from PACTO's Ady Poole (General Manager), Wyndham Williams (Project Manager), Jemma Sinclair (Development Officer), Damian Golden (Accessible Vehicle Co-ordinator) and Jo Hicks (Transport Connector), as well as Eluned Morgan (Minister for Health and Social Services) and Emma Bingham (Senior Development Officer for Community Transport Association), with stories from community transport service users painting a picture of how the sector is a real lifeline in the county.
Bringing together the artistic skills of Dilys Burrell and Phoebe Lester of Pobl Tir Môr, the drawing captured a visually compelling yet fully informative record of the key speeches, speakers and moments throughout the day, acting as a memorable take-home summary of the event by using symbols, colours and typography.
Pobl Tir Môr is a community interest company which delivers meaningful projects that benefit people and the planet, including alternative education projects, social care projects, breaks for carers, a youth graffiti art project and an accessible veg project.
Commenting on the fantastic piece of work produced by Dilys and Phoebe, Project Manager, Wyndham Williams said: "Our event, which was the first of its kind to be organised by PACTO, was an opportunity to showcase the impact the Community Transport sector has in Pembrokeshire, and Dilys and Phoebe really captured the excitement and buzz of the day.
"We are thrilled to have so many partners and organisations on board, and we look forward to exploring the many opportunities that have developed since the event."
