'Drawathon' being held in memory of art-loving Pembroke Dock pupil, Destiny Brown
Pembroke Dock pupils will be taking part in a very special 'Drawathon' next month when they remember Year 6 pupil Destiny Brown who sadly passed away during the summer holidays.
Destiny, who died following a short illness, adored drawing, so Pembroke Dock Community School has decided to hold a special Drawathon event in her memory.
"This is something that Destiny would have adored," commented a spokesperson for Pembroke Dock Community School
"Because she loved drawing so much, we're inviting family, friends and members of the community to join us on this special day and take part in this event to remember her.
"And if people don't think they can draw...don't worry. There are going to be loads of video guides and copies of illustrations available on the day to help people out."
Destiny's closest friends and members of her family will be the judges of the drawing and paintings completed on the day.
The school will also be presenting the Destiny Brown Memorial Shield, which will be awarded to the family with the most points from the art and craft competitions at the annual St Davids Day School Eisteddfod. This year, the shield will go to the overall winner of the Drawathon.
Anyone wishing to take part in the event is asked to contact the school in advance to enable staff to have an idea of how many children and grown ups will be taking part.
The Destiny Brown Drawathon takes place on Friday, October 4 between 11 am and midday.
