Early budget consultation – have your say on major financial pressures
Members of the public are reminded to take part in an early budget consultation being held by Pembrokeshire County Council.
Like many local authorities, PCC is facing major continued financial pressures, including a funding shortfall of £30m in 2025-26.
The consultation seeks your views on:
· How would you generate the money needed (estimated £30m) for 2025-26 in order to balance the budget?
· How much would you increase Council Tax by in order to ensure a balanced budget?
· How much would you reduce service budgets by in order to ensure a balanced budget?
· Any other suggestions for budget savings or for balancing the budget?
The responses to this consultation will assist in informing the development of the Council’s budget for 2025-26.
The closing date for completed responses is Sunday, 29th September 2024. You can give your views by completing our online response form.
You can also give your views using a paper copy of the response form. Call 01437 764551, so we can make arrangements to send this to you.
A more detailed budget consultation will be undertaken at the end of the calendar year, including a series of Facebook Live sessions to allow public discussion on the budget between September 2024 and March 2025.
The first Facebook Live session will take place on Thursday September 26, 6pm-7pm on the Pembrokeshire County Council Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/PembrokeshireCountyCouncil

Three daily ferry sailings from Pembroke from 7th January 2025
The Port of Milford Haven has confirmed it will facilitate a third daily ferry sailing from Pembroke Dock Ferry Terminal on a temporary basis from 7th January 2025. Irish Ferries vessel the ‘Isle of Innisfree’ will call at the Port in addition to the twice-daily scheduled call of the ‘James Joyce’.
Temporary hospital visiting precautions in place to protect patients
Visitors to hospitals across Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, and Pembrokeshire are being asked to only attend if they are free of any potential flu-like symptoms, or any sickness or diarrhoea. Additionally, they may be requested to wear face masks before entry to certain wards or departments.
