Local tennis players stage 12-hour marathon for 'Young Lives vs Cancer'
Milford Haven tennis players took to the courts with a vengeance on Sunday when they took part in a 12-hour Tennis-a-Thon Challenge to raise money for the 'Young Lives vs Cancer' charity.
The first serve was made at 8 am and the players played continuously for a 12-hour relay, finishing at 8pm.
Each player had to raise a minimum of £30 to take part, and at the close of play, well over £500 had been raised.
The event was jointly run by the Milford Haven Tennis Club and the Pembrokeshire Lido Park.
Young Lives vs Cancer is the operating word for CLIC Sargent and is the 12th largest cancer charity in the UK.
It's focus is on children, young people and their families from diagnosis onwards, and aims to help the whole family deal with the impact of cancer and its treatment, as well as life after treatment and, in some cases, bereavement while their care teams provide specialist support across the UK.
