Opinions sought for proposed new one-way system at Prendergast
Opinions are being sought for a proposed new one-way system at Prendegast, Haverfordwest, following concerns by residents concerning congestion, road safety and on-street parking issues.
Pembrokeshire County Council's traffic strategy department has drawn up a new scheme comprising a one-way system extending from the Bridgend Square Roundabout before proceeding up Prendergast Hill and terminating at the mini roundabout.
Pembrokeshire County Council proposes to effectively manage the flow of traffic between the B4329 Cardigan, Road/Fishguard Road junction, along Prendergast (the B4329) to Bridgend Square roundabout via the introduction of the new one-way system. The proposals also include an upgrade to the cycle route as well as what has been described as 'various traffic management mitigation' proposals. The length of the new system will extend to 535 metres.
Pembrokeshire County Council is now convening a public consultation exercise at Prendergast Archives on September 10, when three sessions will take place between 10 am and midday, 1pm and 4pm and 6.30pm and 8pm.
In attendance will be representatives of Pembrokeshire County Council who will be available to answer questions from the public. There will also be an online public survey for anyone unable to attend which can be accessed via: https://www.pembrokeshire.gov.uk/have-your-say/consultations
The online survey will remain available for three weeks, concluding on October 1.
Following the consultation period, the final preferred options will be identified, however these will not be identified until the feedback has been concluded from the local community.
