Steynton Church history displayed in two-day exhibition
Steynton Church is unrolling its ancient history in a two-day exhibition examining the importance the church has played in community life throughout the centuries.
St Peter and St Crewydd's Church is now asking people to share items with them, including nativity and Sunday School photographs, wedding dresses, bridesmaids dresses, certificates of marriage, christening gowns and any stories which may relate to the church's history.
"We're asking any brides who were married in Steynton to dig out those dresses from the loft, complete with mud on the hem, and allow us to display them in the church," commented one of the exhibition's organisers.
"And it would be lovely to include other items such as dresses from the grandparents as well as hats and fascinators.
"The success of this event hinges on the willingness of people to share items with us in order to create our exhibition, so we're asking people, individuals and families to share their photographs and stories with us as the event is only as good as the material that will be shared with us. So please get in touch."
All items should be delivered to the church by September 11 in readiness for the exhibition on Saturday September 14 and Sunday 15, running from 10 am to 4 pm.
If you have an item which could be included in the exhibition, contact Rev Nic on 07508 915 432 or email nicoladavies@cinw.org.uk
