Woman pleads guilty to causing death of baby Mabli by dangerous driving
A 70-year-old motorist has appeared before a Judge at Swansea Crown Court where she pleaded guilty to causing the death of baby Mabli Cariad Hall by dangerous driving.
The eight-month old child was injured in a collision outside Withybush Hospital on June 21, 2023, by a vehicle driven by Bridget Curtis.
Today (Friday), Curtis, of Begelly, Pembrokeshire, appeared at Swansea Crown Court where she pleaded guilty to causing death by dangerous driving. The matter was adjourned to November 22, enabling psychiatric and pre-sentence reports to be prepared in advance of the sentencing.
Curtis was released on unconditional bail and an interim driving ban was imposed on the defendant. But her barrister, John Dye, told the court that his client has already surrendered her licence and does not intend to drive again.
Following the collision, Mabli was taken to a Cardiff hospital for specialist treatment, however she died four days later.
