In simple terms, a Wassail is an old British celebration held in orchards to help wake up the apple trees, and ensure a good harvest - all whilst having some fun!
Expect music, singing, games & merriment and stories by the fire! Plenty of joy for the kids and the adults.
What can I expect on the day?
We will start with a procession from Lidl: https://g.co/kgs/MZm8msd and walk together to the orchard whilst making some noise.
Bring the drums and the musical instruments (or just some pots and pans)!
We will then do a blessing for the apple trees at Orchard Mawr to help them wake up and make lots of apples. The ceremony will be led by a professional storyteller - so no need to fret if you've never Wassailed before.
There will be activities and games for kids, music and stories by the fire, as well as a possible choir joining us!
We will have snacks available for children and adults.
So bring yourselves and the family to our Community Orchard!
