--
At 2.05pm on Monday, January 6th, the Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service from Haverfordwest Fire Station responded to an incident in Merlin’s Bridge in Haverfordwest.
The crew responded to one Shetland pony that had become stuck in a stream, with water over the horse’s legs. While the animal was not in distress, an urgent rescue was required due to the cold temperature and that the horse would likely not survive without any intervention.
With assistance from the RSPCA, the crew’s animal rescue team used their expertise and specialist equipment to successfully rescue the horse from the stream. The horse was safe and well and was returned to its owner. The crew left the scene at 3.25pm.
