Local Artist of the Week: THE HEPBURNS -- The Hepburns is a Carmarthen based rock band formed in the 1980s that has been performing and releasing material intermittently since then - they are well known for their jangly, melodic pop equally influenced by the likes of post new wave bands such as The Smiths or Orange Juice as the cinematic recordings such as those of John Barry or Ennio Morricone.
The lyrics, written by singer/guitarist Matt Jones, set them apart from those influences, being mainly quirky, nostalgic and poetic observations of life in west Wales.
The Hepburns have decided to call it a day and have released three CDs to commemorate this event - a triple A side single, an album called 'Thing of Joy' (pictured), and a further album of outtakes called cleverly 'Second XI'. They can be streamed and downloaded from Bandcamp.
The tracks featured this week are from the 'Thing of Joy' album.
