POLICE UPDATE: Police were called at 7pm on Tuesday, 28th January to a report of a gathering of people protesting outside a property in Burton.
A second gathering was reported on Wednesday, 29th January, in the same area. One man, aged 47, was arrested on suspicion of affray. Another man, aged 58, was arrested on suspicion of aggravated trespass. They have both been released on bail with conditions pending further investigations.
Body worn footage from officers who attended both incidents is being reviewed and anyone found to commit an offence will face further police action.
We will always seek to facilitate peaceful protest while balancing it with the rights of others, keeping the public safe, and preventing crime and disorder - and we encourage anyone organising a protest to contact us so we can work together to ensure any demonstrations are done safely and with respect for the wider community.
