Rave Reviews for Darkly Comedic Play that Explores Memories and the Choices we Make
Winner of the Best Performance and Best New Piece at Birmingham Fringe Festival 2023 and Winner of the Best Theatre Production at the Buxton Fringe Festival 2024 – the award-winning Fluff visits the Torch Theatre this March. The drama will take the audiencemembers on an unforgettable journey divulging into our darkest and most treasured memories.
It’s time for Fluff to do the ultimate puzzle… her life. But Fluff hates puzzles; especially word searches. She can never find the words and doesn’t understand why there’s a half-eaten birthday cake and a woman who keeps visiting her room. As she navigates her way through memories, Fluff desperately needs to piece together her life; story by story, person by person.
The non-linear plot line of Fluff here at the Torch Theatre on Sunday 2 March allows the audience to feel, first-hand, the devastating effects of dementia, through joining Fluff in her journey to uncover her life’s memories.
Fluff, written by Tayla Kenyon and James Piercy, is proud to be supported by the Arts Council England, W3RT, Alzheimer’s Society, Trauma Breakthrough UK and Herts Musical Memories.
Produced by Teepee Productions and Joe Brown, the one-woman show has been described as “A thoughtful piece of theatre that bounces between past and present seemingly effortlessly, it held my attention from beginning to end” ★★★★ by the LondonTheatre1. Bum On A Seatgave the show five stars saying “Not just a fluff piece – this show has grit,” with 1ShowMoredescribing it as “A thought-provoking piece of theatre.”
Teepee Productions, responsible for Fluff, prides itself in work that caters to communities and explores the complexity of human nature and relationships. They love to produce character driven work with witty, truthful dialogue, relating to a range of audiences, asking them to reflect on the world we live in.
Fluff will be live on the Torch Theatre stage on Sunday 2 March at 7.30pm. Age guidance 15+. Tickets: £15. For tickets phone the Box Office on 01646 695267 or visit torchtheatre.co.uk.
