Run a café in a one-of-a-kind historic setting at Castell Henllys
Run a café in a one-of-a-kind historic setting at Castell Henllys
An exciting opportunity has arisen to operate the café at Castell Henllys Iron Age Village, a unique attraction located in the heart of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. Expressions of interest are now invited for this five-year agreement, set to begin as soon as possible.
Nestled within 11 acres of stunning woodland and river meadows, Castell Henllys offers visitors an unparalleled experience. It is the only Iron Age Village in Britain where reconstructed roundhouses stand on their original archaeological sites from 2,000 years ago. Owned and managed by the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority, the site combines history, nature, and culture to create a must-visit destination.
Each year, approximately 23,000 visitors explore the Village’s reconstructed roundhouses, gift shop, children’s play area, and riverside café. The café not only caters to tourists but also serves a loyal local community, thanks to its accessible layout and open ambiance.
Regular cultural events and festivals with a Celtic theme enhance its appeal, providing catering opportunities that range from daytime refreshments to evening gatherings.
Formal expressions of interest must be submitted by noon on Wednesday 29 January 2025. Interested parties should contact JJ Morris to obtain the required documentation, including a specimen copy of the franchise agreement and the Expression of Interest Proforma Form.
To arrange a viewing, contact Castell Henllys on 01239 891319 during site opening hours (10am to 3pm, Wednesday to Sunday) and speak with the Centre Manager.
