Postal voters to be contacted about new requirements for reapplication
Postal voters to be contacted about new requirements for reapplication
--
Voters in Pembrokeshire already registered for postal votes in UK Parliamentary and Police and Crime Commissioner elections will be receiving letters in the coming weeks outlining new requirements coming into force.
The Elections Act 2022 has introduced changes to how you apply for a postal vote in certain elections and how often you need to renew your postal vote.
If you wish to continue voting by post in UK Parliamentary and Police and Crime Commissioner elections by post you will need to reapply and under the new UK rules reapply every three years. To apply go to www.gov.uk/apply-postal-vote. You will need to upload a clear photograph of your signature to complete the application.
The changes do not apply to Senedd or local elections. There are no local elections in Wales this year. The next scheduled election is the Senedd election in May 2026.
For more information about renewing your postal voting arrangements - https://www.pembrokeshire.gov.uk/elections-and-voting/postal-and-proxy-voting or contact Electoral Services on electoralservices@pembrokeshire.gov.uk or call 01437 775844.
