About Alison Lewis-Belton

What do you do at Pure West Radio?

Management Team

How did you get into radio?

I've recently joined as Commercial Director, to join in the amazing journey that Pure West has taken over the last 8 years.  I'm really excited to work with a great group of people in taking the business forward strategically in the future. Looking at building strong commercial relationships across Pembrokeshire. I've actually been on radio a few times being interviewed and doing voiceovers for commercials. I do like a microphone.

Where is your favourite place to visit in Pembrokeshire?

Whitesands. Sorry Newgale, don't take offence.

Who is your hero?

Ah, got to be my Dad. To be fair it's a tough gig being dad to me.

What is your biggest fear?

Submarines and Snakes.

Where is your favourite place to visit in the world?

Any ski resort in France. I just love the peace and tranquility of snow laden mountains, that gorgeous fresh air followed by the thrill of skiing (or falling) down a mountain. Superb.

What would you change about yourself if you could?

Wow! That's quite a question and I guess if I could time travel and go back in time I may have taken a different career route in my early days. Growing up in Haverfordwest in the 60's there weren't that many choices, secretary, work in a bank/teacher were a few.  I took up the secretary route and was fortunate to become employed by the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority as a temporary typist, but ended up staying 17 years, finishing up as Training Manager.

What makes you really angry?

Printers! You know what I mean..

What motivates you to work hard?

Well that career came good! I've run a number of my own businesses and worked alongside some amazing entrepreneurs and business visionaries. I honestly don't know anything other than working hard, but making a different in any business is my key motivation.

What is your favourite thing about your life?

Ah I can't say I have a favourite, it's the whole combination that makes life the gem that it is.  Family, friends, work, hobbies and love.

What is your proudest accomplishment?

Giving birth to two amazing children and seeing them as wonderful adult human beings. If you're talking as an individual then it has to be turning over a six figure sum for the first time with my own consultancy.  Felt like people believed in me ... sometimes it's hard to believe in ourselves!

Who is the most famous person you've met?

Does Don Johnson from afar in the Regent Beverley Wiltshire Hotel LA count. Yep, my fave film is Pretty Woman. Standard.

One thing people might be surprised to know about you?

I'm a showjumping commentator ... don't know if that is suprising or not .. oh yes and I learnt Burlesque dancing for a year or so...
