About FreaQuincy!

What do you do at Pure West Radio?

DJ

How did you get into radio?

Freaq - I have been with the radio for just over 2 years now, formerly known as (KA1) but early last year myself and Jase Formed Freaquincy

Quincy - I first got involved with Pure West Radio early 2020, after taking on the early slot at Eddies Rocks, Toby saw potential and was kind enough to give me a shot on the residents show, at the time I was know as (ALPHA Music), I then transitioned to (DEEJAYSON) and joined up with Kai. Early last year we became a single entity, FREAQUINCY.

Where is your favourite place in Pembrokeshire?

Freaq - My Favourite place to visit in Pembrokeshire has to be Barafundle beach.

Quincy - Tenby Beach, I have so many find memories of visiting Tenby Beach, having a drink and a barbecue with a few friends throughout Summer time.

Who is your hero?

Freaq - My Heroes in life are Martin Garrix & my parents, both have had so much influence on my life and both have contributed to make me who I am today.

Quincy - My hero has to Hardwell, Hardwell has been the single biggest influence on my life, my entire musical pursuit and journey has been influenced by seeing Hardwell’s work over the years.

What is your biggest fear?

Freaq - I’m an extremely family orientated person, so I have a big fear of loosing family members or people I love.

Quincy - I’ve always had major cases of thalassophobia (Fear of bodies of water) and Arachnophobia (Fear of Spiders).

Where is your favourite place to visit in the world?

Freaq - I’ve been lucky enough to visit Las Vegas, attending EDC and staying at Caesars Palace, which has by far been my favourite trip abroad.

Quincy - I haven’t been many places abroad, I’ve visited France twice, but I’d love to work towards being in a position where I could visit Iceland a few times throughout my life span.

What would you change about yourself if you could?

Freaq - I would say I’m a little bit of an over thicker so maybe working on ways not to over think things people say so much.

Quincy - I would say to maybe slow down and appreciate things a little more, my mind works at 100mph and my life is run at 120%, so eventually learning how to slow down and relax from time to time is definitely something I’m working on.

What really makes you angry?

Freaq - I’m a huge music fan, so when people don’t agree with my music taste it’s a bit frustrating.

Quincy - I have an undying passionate hatred for Christmas songs haha.

What motivates you to work hard?

Freaq - I seek motivation through the thought of eventually being able to have a Job that I’m passionate about and love doing.

Quincy - My motivation is mostly internal, I’m fuelled by the thought of progressing and working hard to eventually get to a point where I can help create a better life for my family and friends.

What is your favourite thing about your life?

Freaq - I love the fact, and am grateful for being able to be so heavily involved with music as that’s what I love doing.

Quincy - I’m extremely grateful and feel lucky I am able to be so heavily involved with music, it’s the one thing I love most in life so to be able to spend so much time with it I feel privileged.

What is your proudest accomplishment?

Freaq - I think my proudest moment was supporting two of the biggest names in the Hard Dance scene, Cally & Shocker, who I’ve listened to from a young age, it was a very surreal moment for me.

Quincy - I think building Freaquincy as a whole has been my biggest achievement, working on branding, building a small but amazing loyal fan base, obtaining gigs, being apart of Pure West Radio, supporting huge names like Scott Mills, RKSwitch, Artful Dodgers, Cally & Shocker, Jakka-B and so many more, it’s been a privilege and an amazing experience building and sharing it all with my best friend too.

Who is the most famous person you've met?

Freaq - I’ve been lucky enough to meet Martin Garrix on a few occasions, firstly at Creamfields 2021 after his closing set, but most notably I met him after his set Wet Republic in Las Vegas and got to spend 10 minutes or so chatting with him.

Quincy - I think the most famous person I’ve ever met has to be Martin Garrix after his set at Creamfields 2021.

One thing people might be surprised to know about you?

Freaq - I actually really enjoy cooking when I have the time, a pretty good cook to if I do say so myself.

Quincy - Deeper responses, but I actually, ironically playing to a crowd every weekend, have a lot of trouble with anxiety, due to a combination of ADHD & traits of ASD, my mind works on overload 24/7. Working with music, gigs, crowds and a lot of the amazing people at Pure West Radio has really helped, and I'd definitely encourage anyone to tackle things head on and always pursue your dreams and goals, as scary as they might be.
